University of Arizona
Tucson, AZ 85721

Sonora Review is run entirely by graduate students in the MFA program at the University of Arizona. We publish fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction, and we value honesty and innovation. We do not consider genre work (romance, mystery, horror, sci-fi) unless it manages to transcend the boundaries of the genre. We aim to publish work by both established and emerging writers.

Send complete manuscript with SASE. Submissions without a SASE or proper postage will not be returned. Please specify on the envelope which editor should read your work. We accept submissions year round, but do not read during the summer. Simultaneous submissions are okay, but we would like to be informed of them. We report in three to four months; be forewarned that delays sometimes occur. All manuscripts must be typed and double-spaced. For poetry, send up to five poems. For fiction and non-fiction, we have difficulty finding space for pieces longer than 10,000 words.

For contest information and guidelines, please see our Contest page.
