Interdisciplinary Roundtable 2008 Location: University of Arizona Features of the Conference: Dr.
Andrew Carnie, Department of Linguistics Student and faculty proposals are sought for two types of presentations: 1) Papers (20-min. presentation, followed by 10 min. of open discussion) These talks will address small audiences of up to 30 participants. Papers representing any of the four strands of the SLAT Program (i.e., language pedagogy, language use, language processes, or language analysis) as well as those that bridge these areas are welcome. We are also interested in those that highlight interdisciplinary aspects of studies in second language acquisition. This format provides opportunities for one-on-one discussion of finished projects or works in progress, especially those with visually presented data (e.g., charts, tables, or graphs). Criteria for proposal selection:
All proposals should be submitted electronically: by email to the SLAT Student Association, at slatsa@email.arizona.edu. Guidelines for email submissions: I. In the subject heading of the e-mail message please type Roundtable Poster Submission OR Roundtable Paper Submission II. In the e-mail message, please include a summary or your presentation 75-100 words in length (to be used in the program should your paper be selected for presentation). III. All abstracts should be attached to e-mail messages in the form of a MS Word Document and should be no more than 400 words in length. IV. In the body of the e-mail message, please fill all of the following fields in the given order (you may want to copy and paste this into your e-mail): • TITLE OF PRESENTATION (Maximum of 10 words) • PRESENTER'S NAME (FAMILY, GIVEN) • DEPARTMENT & AFFILIATION • MAILING ADDRESS (INCL. CITY, STATE, ZIP CODE) • PHONE • E-MAIL ADDRESS • GENERAL RESEARCH AREA OF PRESENTATION (any that apply): • L2 Pedagogy • IF MY PAPER PROPOSAL IS NOT SELECTED FOR A PAPER, I WOULD LIKE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A POSTER (YES OR NO)
