USHCC Reception and Discussion
Invitation to event

The Mission of Media, Democracy & Policy
on the National Front

Featuring Special Guests: the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce National Board,
Foundation Board and Corporate Board

As Washington legislators determine public policy for the nation and the strength of political clout among Latinos increases, the attention to this community also increases. Central to the Media, Democracy & Policy Initiative is the inclusion of Latino voices in issues such as education, health care, social justice, immigration, and the economy. The mission of MDPI is directing a model institution to address issues concerning the image, identity of Latinos in American media, society and politics while adding historical context to the national dialogue on these issues. It sponsors policy-relevant, interdisciplinary research and educational forums that link media, democracy and policy issues. It is also serves as an archive and research center documenting the legacy of Latinos.
