at the University of Arizona can do for you.
Here
is a brief overview of who we are and what we do:
As a department, we pride ourselves on award-winning teaching
and advising. Each semester, our foundation language courses
in French and Italian and our General Education courses
[Tier I and Tier II] attract a growing number of students.
Our undergraduate degree programs in French and Italian
emphasize proficiency in the target language, critical thinking,
and intellectual growth. Three options are available for
the B.A. in French (Literature; Teaching; and Business)
and two in Italian (Language and literature; Italian studies).
The faculty in French and Italian builds on an impressive record of
outstanding, internationally- recognized research and scholarship.
The faculty in French train graduate students at the M.A. and at the doctoral
levels in almost all subfields of our discipline and from
a wide variety of perspectives and theoretical approaches.
In
short, we are a growing department with a sense of mission
and purpose, a dynamic group of teachers, scholars, public
servants, all deeply committed to our work and to the well-being
of our students.
