Alfie has just been chosen as one of four 2008 Distinguished
Teaching Award recipients
by the College of Humanities. Alfie was recognized
at the annual University of Arizona Award Ceremony that was
held on April 16,
2008,
hosted by the Provost. He was also honored at the COH
pre-commencement undergraduate luncheon on May 2006. This College
of Humanities
Distinguished
Teaching Award also comes with a cash reward of
$1000. All those who nominated Fabian Alfie had high praises
for his teaching, including a student who said:

His upbeat personality, extensive knowledge and sheer passion for
Italian literature had allowed me to discover that I too had a
passion for Italian literature… Professor Alfie has
inspired me to continue a life long learning of all that
is Italian, and
not to let my learning end once I've received my diploma."
