Sonia Colina, Associate Professor of Spanish and Portuguese, received a National Leadership award from the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) at their annual conference in New York City March 19-22, 2009. The award was granted in recognition of Dr. Colina's work with the Hablamos Juntos (HJ) project of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, aimed at improving access to health care for limited-English-proficient populations. A member of the Hablamos Juntos National Scholars Network, she is the program's lead translation researcher for the More than Words project and the Translation Quality Assessment Tool. |
