Professor Ana Carvalho has edited Portugues em Contacto (Madrid/Frankfurt: Iberoamericana Vervuert), an important series of essays on Portuguese as a world language.

  • Two distinguished university presses have issued volumes by faculty members.Georgetown University Press has published Professor Sonia Colina's Spanish Phonology:  A Syllabic Perspective. Spanish Phonology offers a comprehensive analysis of a variety of crucial issues in the phonology and morphophonology of various dialects of Spanish. Written from the perspective of optimality theory and with syllabic structure at its core, it highlights recent advances in Spanish phonology.

  • Rutgers University Press has published Professor Melissa Fitch's Side Dishes:  Latin American Women, Sex and Cultural Production. The volume treats Latin American women's authorship and activism.

 Professor Robert L. Fiore was honored by having an homage volume dedicated to him. Hispanic Studies in Honor of Robert L. Fiore (Juan de la Cuesta: Newark, Delaware) is edited by Chad Gasta and Julia Dominguez, the latter a PhD graduate in Spanish from the University of Arizona. It is a collection of 31 essays by former students and a who's who list of distinguished scholars of Spanish Golden Age literature honoring Professor Fiore's important contributions to Hispanism.
