The faculty in Spanish and Portuguese continue to produce important scholarship, with the following volumes having appeared since the end of the 2009 spring semester: Professor Ana Carvalho has edited Portugues em Contacto (Madrid/Frankfurt: Iberoamericana Vervuert), an important series of essays on Portuguese as a world language.
Professor Robert L. Fiore was honored by having an homage volume dedicated to him. Hispanic Studies in Honor of Robert L. Fiore (Juan de la Cuesta: Newark, Delaware) is edited by Chad Gasta and Julia Dominguez, the latter a PhD graduate in Spanish from the University of Arizona. It is a collection of 31 essays by former students and a who's who list of distinguished scholars of Spanish Golden Age literature honoring Professor Fiore's important contributions to Hispanism. |
