UA Graduate Student Wins Prestigious Fiction Prize

 

Cary Groner, a student in the graduate Creative Writing Program, has won the Glimmer Train Fiction Open, a prestigious international competition that is open to published and unpublished authors alike and receives hundreds of submissions. Groner was in journalism for over 20 years before entering the CTW program. Additionally Groner has won the annual Hackney Award from Birmingham-Southern College.

The CTW graduate program always ranks among the top 10 creative writing programs in the nation. Aurelie Sheehan is the current director, herself a well-known fiction writer with several commercially successful works.
