Assistant Professor Allison Dushane is a Romanticist who also specializes in eighteenth-century literature, literary and aesthetic theory, science and technology, and digital media. Her dissertation argues for a relationship between theories of matter, conceptions of nature, and innovations in aesthetic form in the long Romantic period through the work of Erasmus Darwin, Blake, Shelley, Goethe, and Coleridge. She has also presented papers on Atwood, Darwin, Borges, and technology in the classroom. Her teaching experience includes classes on poetry and criticism, "Forbidden Knowledge: Literature, Science, and Creation," a course on Austen, and a course on digital textuality. |
