Eligibility: Student must be a declared major or minor in Chinese. Award is based solely on merit, regardless of the nominee's financial need. Students may be nominated by any member of the University faculty, tenured or untenured, who will also arrange for a second letter of support to be submitted by another faculty member. Selection will be made by a faculty committee composed of at least three members, two appointed by the Head of the Department of East Asian Studies, and the third by the Dean of the College of Humanities. Selection will be based upon the student's overall academic excellence, as detailed in the letters of faculty support.
