  • How has the space been described? What aspects of the space stand out most?

  • How is the space organized? What "rooms" is the space divided into and how is each "room" presented?

  • How are objects and other descriptive elements used throughout the space and what conclusions can you draw about this person's character as a result?

  • What about the character/owner of the space...how is he/she/it/they described and what impression does that description give you of the character's self?

Take notes on these speeches, comparing their organization and the imagery and word choice our presidents have used to characterize these conflicts, ourselves and our declared enemies. If you are not familiar with the context surrounding these speeches, please consult any number of sites on the web (an encyclopedia site, for one) to gain some perspective about the environment in which these presidents were speaking and to whom they were addressing their messages (obvious audience and others who would be watching).
